50 Nifty: New York

Hi! My name is Daina, and I am the midwesterner turned New Yorker behind New York State of Mind. I have lived in New York City for almost ten years, and find myself falling more and more in love with this amazing place every day.

There are so many things I love about New York. The winding tree-lined paths in Central Park, the historic buildings, the Brooklyn Bridge, the iconic Nathan's hotdog... the list could go on and on. But what I love most about the Big Apple is its indescribable energy. It is fast-paced, noisy, gritty, and bright. And regardless of how long you have called this place home, it always managed to surprise you. I love wandering the city streets discovering new shops, restaurants, bakeries, buildings, and parks. This city literally energizes me. It has opened my eyes to so much, and for that I will always be grateful.
New York City is absolutely beautiful. It will forever be one of my favorite places.

If you want to follow more of my adventures in the Big Apple, stop on by my blog!

  1. These are great, beautiful photos! They're making me want to go back to NYC soon. I'm only a train ride away and there really is always something new to discover. Last time, I discovered the bite size cupcake shop Baked by Melissa and the best frozen yogurt I've ever had at Pinkberry.
