Check Out This Place 38!

25 weeks! My belly seems to be much more out now than it has been; Stuffed jalapenos (cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, green onions) with the sixth Harry Potter movie; baked potato for Ryan and soup for me at Brixton's in Ogden; "Nutella" strawberries and the two books I finished reading this week; Fluorite & sterling silver earrings by Sarah Creates which I won in Eliza's huge giveaway; crazy belly distortion! Baby scooched over to one side of my belly and it looked so crazy! This photo really doesn't do it justice, although the fact that my belly button is so off-center is still pretty nuts to me.
The two books I finished reading this week were Declutter Your Life and this month's Traveling PhoBookClub read, Sarah's Key. Declutter Your Life was a good, fast read that dealt with decluttering physically and mentally/emotionally in such a clutter-filled life, and Sarah's Key is just amazing. It twists a French holocaust story into a modern woman's life and I can't even explain how it made me feel. My heart was breaking but I was so gripped I couldn't stop reading it. I definitely recommend it, even if you don't start it until after the PhoBookClub discussion is over. I have the movie on its way now and I'm really curious to see if it'll convey the emotions the book did.

Any ways, check out this place!
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyard is positively gorgeous and makes me want to visit Virginia in the early fall.

Chelsea is currently teaching in Korea and this little post really makes me smile. It's a good reminder about how different other countries can be, and I like that it features a few American things and a few Korean things.
-
Deanna shared two great travel links this week... her cruise tips (which I hope to utilize sooner than later) and the latest Roaming Gnome post, a little trip to Las Vegas!
-
My girl Steffani shared a little more of her honeymoon road trip, San Francisco! It looks like such a fun place to visit, but not a place I'd want to (or rather, could afford to) stay in for long.

I found an awesome new blog this week, the Tagabonds... another young couple who traveled the US by roadtrip... but they did it all at once and have already seen all 50 states! I am really loving reading through their various trips.

Private space travel is supposed to start getting big this year, and I'm excited to see This is the Place and the Treehouse Museum while in northern Utah!

If you get any snow this weekend, or have time to dig through old photos for snow pictures, send 'em my way for the next Your Town feature!

  3. I need to find both of those books. Sarah's Key sounds like such a moving story. I'd probably appreciate a book like Declutter Your Life, too. My brain is always full of clutter!

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Ooooh I saw the movie Sarah's Key last year and wanted to read the book, I didn't know it was based on a book until after and figured since I watched the movie FIRST the book just wouldn't be the same. What a powerful story! Yipes it was crazy edge of your seat- not wanting to know but needing to know mystery wrapped family secret nuttiness! I just read Three Weeks With my Brother by Nicholas Sparks, I highly recommend it. You look so adorable with your baby goodness glow and jalepeno poppers with bacon? Oh my! ~ Naples Sara

    1. Oh good, then I'm excited for the movie now too! I actually as a teenager used to watch the movie first and if it was good I'd read the book since I knew it'd be even better. I don't know when I made that switch!
Thank you! And yes, they were so delicious and met the criteria for my daily spiciness fix. =P

Oh, I need to send you some snow pictures! They're old, but still snowy!

I loved the post about the cruise! Especially since she got it so cheap. My mom won a cruise and will be going next month, so I'm going to pass this on to her!

    Thanks for the link!

    1. That's how I felt! It hurts to read but you don't want to stop!
Yay, still snow so still counts!!
I always thought cruises were $500+ per person and then super expensive while on-board too so now I'm excited to find one some time! That's awesome, where is your mom cruising to?
      You're welcome! =]
