Yellowstone, Part One!

We're back from Yellowstone and had a really wonderful time. There was so much to see and do! The trip will have to be broken down into at least three or four posts, but I was able to squish all of our first day into this first one.

I just love these tunnels, shortly before Thermopolis, Wyoming

Grizzly! I thought it looked like it was eating something, but all of the people around us thought it was playing with three bear cubs. Either way, pretty cool. We saw this about two minutes after entering the park.

(I've finally started up a Traveling PhoBlogWriPher YouTube channel, for those of you who were interested/suggested it. It might not be all that interesting to everyone, but it's there!)
Black Bear! Not too far away from us!

Lake Yellowstone

Buffalo! Actually, it was kind of gross. I thought it was just molting, but then we noticed that spot in the middle was bloody/scabby looking and figured it was either diseased somehow or had been attacked by something.

Hot springs all over the place! More to come soon!
We ended our night with a quick dinner at Yellowstone Lodge (where Ryan was ecstatic to find gluten free buns for his hot dog!) and then retired to our cabin through Yellowstone Hotel & Cabins
Hey ghost believers, are those orbs?!

    1. Thank you! There are lots more to come, and yes, you'll DEFINITELY have to make it over that way! RV sites are closed for the season (as is a lot of the lodging) but I do definitely recommend the fall. Wasn't too crowded, wasn't too hot, just a little chilly at times and gorgeous yellow leaves.

    1. I know, isn't that terrible?! We couldn't decided if it was sick or had been attacked but I kind of hope it had been attacked so it could at least heal and then not have to feel it anymore!
It was so beautiful! The rest of the pictures are even prettier, I think!

  3. Cabin's?! Too too cute! That Buffalo does look a little icky. I am pretty certain that teddy bear is soap but it look's like white chocolate!

    1. I know, isn't that great?! All of the other lodges had brown cabins, which I preferred, but I really loved the way ours looked next to the sky. =]

  5. Thanks for linking up! The scenery out there is stunning. I'm amazed whenever I see pics of it which, was actually twice already today - Daisy also linked up with pics of yellowstone. Crazy.
I love how the pictures looking out over the water have a violet tint. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it is lovely. Also lovely is that picture of you in that cute, white vest. Adorable!

    1. Oh, no problem! Thanks for coming over to say hi!
Actually, I was really lazy and didn't edit any of these photos... plus most of them were taken using my little Kodak and not my Canon. The colors were a little more vibrant in person, but it really was just a beautiful sight at the right time of evening.
And thanks so much! I thought it was a really good picture too so I had to put it up. =]

  6. Now we really need to get to Yellowstone! So pretty! It would be kind of scary to see the bears, exciting, but scary. And that poor buffalo. He looks so tattered! I love the trees along the lake. It's nice to see greenery, but I also love it when everything's dead. Cute cabins!

    1. Oh you would love it! I always thought it was just a desert-y canyon... you know, yellow stones... so I was NOT excited to go see it until Ryan showed me pictures this summer and then I was super excited. I'm so glad we went!!
