The Twenty Dollar Date 7!

Our Thursday night date was a spontaneous little autumn date. We were supposed to go to dinner with one of Ryan's co-workers, but that didn't work out so we decided just to have a quick little date night for ourselves.

We wanted something hot, quick, and inexpensive. We opted for Stuft, a gourmet baked potato place in town. The last time we went, everything was in Styrofoam bowls or paper boats so it felt a little more like a quick lunch stop. This time they had real dishes and silverware so it felt a little nicer inside.

Ryan got the bacon burger potato and I got a bowl of the baked potato soup... but I was eying their new pizza potato pretty heavily. I'm going to have to ask what's in it. I'm  picturing sauce, cheese and pepperoni. If that's the case, I think I'd like to try it... though I'm not sure how pizza flavors will taste on a potato.

Afterwards we went over to Red Lobster for cheesecake and hot cocoa. They said they had forgotten to order any hot chocolate for the fall, so we opted for the cheesecake To Go and pumpkin spice hot chocolate from a Flying J Pilot nearby.
If you've never had Red Lobster's cheesecake, DO IT.
It's crust-less and gluten free, along with their water and possibly some salad. (Seriously it's almost the only GF item on their menu but it's so worth it)!

This date lasted a little under two hours and cost us $19.72
So we probably didn't have the money for hot chocolate and a tip at RL any ways!

Also, my friend Rachel and her husband have a new (two months old) baby at home. I have always said a date doesn't count as a date unless you leave the house for it, but I make an exception for parents with children under six months old. We'll see if that age slowly creeps up once I have a bebe of my own!
They had a pretty adorable date at home this week, popcorn and Shirley Temples on the couch. I'm expecting lots of "You should pick up pizza and a movie on your way home" date nights this time next year.

Have you been on a $20 date recently? I'd love to share it! E-mail me a picture or two and a short description of your date! SaraBell2010@yahoo.com

  1. Mmm I wish we had a potato place like that in town! And I SO need to get cheesecake from RL! I think we may do that today after a hike up in the leaves. Ooo, do I sense a $20 date coming on?! Also, if you like shrimp, i recommend the all you can eat shrimp when they have it. Only the shrimp scampi is GF but who wants anything else?!

    1. I hope you did it!
I am allergic to shrimp! Ryan might like it though, I'll have to tell him about it and see if he's interested! =]
