Influenster VoxBox Review

Well, I have officially given up on feeling comfortable in my body. Something is just not quite right in my lower abdomen (on top of all kinds of other symptoms) and I'm just going to have to accept that as long as another human being is living inside of me, things are going to be a little weird.
Is that not crazy? What a crazy concept, we grow another human inside us. Like those little Russian stacking dolls. I have a human in me and I grew in my mother who grew in her mother who grew in her mother...
Any ways, on to some less Captain Obvious things...
My Influenster VoxBox! I said I would review it and I am.
Once again, I am not sponsored by or affiliated with Influenster in any way. I am a member of their VoxBox program, which means I am sent a free box every few months of products to sample and review on various forms of social media. They are now invitation-only and I am currently out of invites... but once I have more, I'll let you know!

Bath & Body Works mini candle in Pumpkin Cupcake: I really loved this one. The scent is my favorite they've ever come out with, and I was really impressed by how long the little candle lasted. I've burned it for a few hours almost every day and it's still hangin' on. They also sent a coupon for $10 off a larger candle. I didn't take advantage of that, but I did get another mini! (Peach Bellini scent, so I have something to look forward to once fall and winter are over!)
EBOOST vitamin booster: This is a powdered mix, like an Emergen-C packet. I got the orange flavor. I try not to consume much processed soy since I don't feel well afterwards. I also don't drink caffeine and am staying away from stevia during pregnancy (it's a big question mark regarding early contractions) so I just took a teensy sip for taste-testing purposes and gave Ryan the rest. My sip tasted like a strange orange Flintstones ice cream... but the aftertaste was not a good one for me. Ryan said, "Pretty gross."
Goody Spin Pin: Loved! My hair is a little too short/layered for these at the moment so a few pieces stuck out in funny ways. It may not have looked great, but it was very convenient (took maybe a minute a get put in and set) and it stayed all day long. That's kind of a miracle for my silky, thin hair. I will definitely be using these again, especially once my hair is longer or more even and I can get the full effect out of them! The ONLY thing I didn't like, and it wasn't a big deal at all, was the color. I got the one for dark hair so I am going to spray paint it gold sometime so it's less strange-looking sticking out of my hair.
Kiss False Eyelashes: Not a fan! I don't like false eyelashes any ways, but these felt weird to me and made me look too dramatic. It also weirded me out that they were made of 100% human hair. I know that's probably a plus, but I'm weird like that.
Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream: Loved it! My hair doesn't get SUPER frizzy, but it does get very static-y and harbor some occasional frizz. It seemed to have so much more volume with this because it wasn't plastered to the side of my head!
NYC IndividualEyes eye shadow: Liked it. I do think the palette I got was a bit too dark for my coloring... but it went on smoothly, lasted all day, and really made my eyes pop. I've just been using the lighter colors and avoiding the darker ones and I really like it.
Overall, I loved this box. I loved the first box I got, loved the second more, and loved this even more!
I would (and did) purchase another mini candle, would definitely buy the spin pins again if I were unable to find mine, would possibly buy the frizz control cream and would possibly buy the eye shadow again.
I would definitely not buy the EBOOST or the Kiss false eyelashes again.
So there ya go!

And one last reminder, send me your spookiest photos to SaraBell2010@yahoo.com by tonight! I don't have very many right now, but the ones I have are great!
Also, my books are all on sale! eBooks are $1.99 and my paperbacks 10% off to finish out October!
And lastly, I guest posted for The Money Saving Mom how I self-market for free or almost free here

  1. Try not to be too tough on yourself for all the changes going on in your body, though I know that's easier said than done since I imagine I'll feel the same way if I'm ever with child. Lots of love to you as always. :)

  2. I was thinking about how weird pregnancy is the other day too. It's so hard to imagine actually growing something inside of you!

I am so jealous of that candle! I got one that smells AWFUL! I don't remember the sent, but I'll look again when I do the review. I haven't tried the boost thing, but now i'm nervous! I didn't realize it had soy and stuff! What the heck!

    1. Oh good ha ha, then it's not just me!
I smelled some of the other ones I'd seen listed while I was at the store and yeah, a few of them smelled AWFUL! I loved that marshmallow one, and the other pumpkin, but otherwise I was not really a fan. Good luck with the Boost! Maybe convince Vince or Roxi to try if for you! =P It might be fine and just now what we're used to, but I would just lightly sip before you take a big ol' swig ha ha

  3. Oh I want to try the spin pins but feel like my hair isn't long enough just yet. And I read race reviews in Influenster :) about those candles so I must try. I'm a HUGE "candle person" and burn them year round, even here in FL. Just makes a home feel cozy. I'm sure your little bebe is mighty comfy in his/her home in your belly. I can't imagine that feeling but since it's growing with you , it must be a warm cozy feeling for you to. You're keeping it safe and sound :) ~Naples Sara. P.s: influenster did give me points but no badges yet. I'm only linked by FB so I don't know if that will be an issue. I want one of those glorious boxes!!! :) I keep adding items and reviews each day though, and only on items I truly have used so I hope that helps! :)

    1. They'll probably still work, they just might not look as good. That's how they were for me at least. I agree, a home feels so much cozier with candles in it! =]
That's a sweet thought about the bebe, thank you!
Jeez Louise that is so weird! I wouldn't think that would matter. You filled out the little profiles for the expert badges, right? I kind of think mine popped up immediately after I filled them out, even after the site re-launch! But I might be wrong. Maybe you should contact them, just to be sure. Sorry! =/

    3. Oh sorry, I should have been more clear about that! I'm so glad you got it though, and I'm so glad you found the Blushing Bride badge! What others did you get? =]
