Check Out This Place 24!

Short pumpkin spiced hot chocolate and Envy by Gregg Olsen; a Hobby Lobby crafting extravaganza; two ingredient pumpkin brownies; crying for no reason
 Good morning!
Shall I elaborate?
Envy was pretty okay. I feel like I need to read almost exclusively spooky books this month (aside from the PhoBookClub pick) and this one looked like a great pick. I'm not yet totally sure how I feel about the what actually happened aspect of this particular YA mystery but it was definitely mysterious and creepy and cooky and weird.
The craft stuff is for two different projects: one not-at-all cool or exciting thing for the baby's room and an advent calendar for Ryan's little sister... and since I probably won't be up to/have time for some good crafting this time next year or the year after, I figured I might as well make my own now too. I'll just stick fun prizes for Ryan in there this year.
Those brownies are delicious! I saw them on Crystal's post and had to try them. One box of gluten free brownie mix, one can of pumpkin puree, baked at 350* for 30 minutes, perfect.
And the crying? Oh my. Well I'm hearing it's a  normal part of pregnancy, but it sure isn't normal to me! I'll be sitting there, perfectly happy, and then feel this weird surge feeling from my stomach to my chest. I'll think "uh-oh," and then my chest will get hot and radiate emotion out of my tear ducts. I'll cry really hard for like 30 seconds and then think, "Why did I just cry?"
Any ways, enough about me. Check out this place!

My friend Jamie and her family took a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine and I am SO excited to visit! Those starfish! Those whales! That bebe on his daddy's back!
-
Caitlin camped out at the Grand Canyon last weekend. (You can see our Grand Canyon photos here)
-
Elizabeth's trip to Vashon Island (Washington) looks like the perfect fall date day... and her outfit is so absolutely adorable!
-
Have you ever heard of Apolonia? I hadn't, but it looks like a lovely place to visit!
-
Michelle's fun camping trip makes me miss Prescott! (Also, I really want to try that spray-painting thing next time I go camping)!
-
Bonus, Deanna's Roaming Gnome post is up and it features our Yellowstone adventures! You can see a teensy bit more Yellowstone here

Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Awww you are too cute!! What a morning haha! Okay the brownies I want to try, perhaps a non GF version. Seems like the pumpkin would have enough moisture and stickiness to make them lovely. ~ Naples Sara

  3. Ooohh yeah I was going to suggest, if you can find it, Lafcadio (sp?) by Shell Silverstien, it's one of the lesser known books and a quick read but SO cute! I know you like YA books and it's prob even younger than that but I have my dads tattered old copy and it's still a fun read! ~Naples Sara

    1. Oh thanks! I really like Shel Silverstein but I don't think I've even heard of this one! I am trying to build up a little baby library any ways so I'll definitely add it to my list! =]

  4. I am so going to try the pumpkin brownies...so yummy!

I've been wanting to make an advent calendar because I always had one growing up, and I have all the stuff for it because I bought it and didn't make it last year, so I just need to do it! So sweet that you're making one for Shannon!

And those starfish are so cool! I've never seen them in their natural habitat.

    1. Yes, try them! They're super moist.

I'm excited to see your calendar! I am finishing up Shannon's tomorrow and then I'll start on ours. =]

Isn't that awesome?! I have only ever seen them at the aquarium so they were much smaller and it's always cooler to see something in the wild! =]
