This Fall...

 First things first.
Last night I finished reading Saving CeeCee Honeycutt and I loved it! I can't wait to discuss and review it with those of you who read it (or have read it in the past)!
If you haven't already read it, it's not too late! I am going to be a few days late on the review any ways, plus it's a short book and a fast read (not that you'll believe that, considering how long it's taken me to finish it).

We are obviously happy and excited and thrilled about Baby Bell... but we are also being very cautious about this meantime and making sure we enjoy our last little bit of time spent as RyanAndSara before we forever become TheBells.
Date nights and spur-of-the-moment plans and lounging in bed snuggling before getting up in the mornings are our priorities now... because before we know it, there's going to be a lot of stress and long nights and exhaustion accompanying our bouncing bundle of joy.
This time next year we will have an almost-five-month-old, which is just nuts to me!
This time next year there will be zillions of pumpkin patch pictures and Halloween costumes on the horizon...
but for now, even though it's sometimes hard not to think about (and, for example, buy the cutest pair of gender-neutral Halloween pajamas Target is currently carrying in a size Six Months)
I want to focus on THIS YEAR.
Because this year is the last year I get to be selfish and share my husband with absolutely no one. This is the last year I get to say "Hey, want to go get hot chocolate and walk around downtown?" or "I don't feel like cooking. Want to go to the bar and eat nachos while we watch the game?" or "It's too cold to set an alarm clock right now. I'm just going to get up when I get up."
So I've decided to ensure that we savor this last husband-and-wife fall by creating a list of our favorite fall things and making sure we cross them all off before December 21st (when I'll have to make a similar winter list!)

Also this fall?

I'd like to rock my scarves. I have some pretty cute ones but I always feel like a dork in them so they rarely get worn. I always think other ladies look adorable in theirs so this fall I'm going to grow some confidence and just wear the heck out of them.

What's on your list for this fall?
Also, Moms, help! I love to read and I have a goal of reading 1,000 novels by my 30th birthday. I basically gave up on that goal and imagined I'd read a book a month at best for the next 18 years... but I've read several blogposts here lately where Moms talk about how many books they read in a year.
Moms, how often are you able to read? (Without sacrificing baby time... I don't want to do that, I just don't want to totally give up reading forever either)

  1. That's one really weird thing to me about having kids at some point in the future--it'll never just be "CaitlinandRob" again until we're old. Crazy! Glad you're enjoying this time because I imagine it'll go by so quickly! <3 Love your scarves, also.

    1. Yeah, it's a sad and happy thing at the same time. But we're pretty big on always making sure we put each other first and make time for date nights (even if it's just for an hour once a month because I'm paranoid about leaving le bebe)
Thank you! I think I'll wear one this weekend. =]

  2. I love that list you did of things you want to do! Vince and I are creating a similar one to ease his, 'It'll be the end of life as I know it!' anxiety. We haven't done a lot of little things together, like carve pumpkins, so that's on our list too!

And those scarves are all so cute, you should definitely wear the heck out of them!

    1. I want to make one for every season from now on... this year will be things to do together, and in the future it'll be things to do with Baby! I wanna see your list too!
And thank you, I think I will wear one this weekend to get myself started!

  3. i definitely miss getting to do things with just peppy whenever we want to. we were much more spontaneous then. but getting to experience things through the eyes of your child is pretty cool too. :) holidays (especially christmas and halloween) are much more fun for me now.

    1. It is strange and something we always take for granted or rarely think about. Once in a while we'll decide to go get a Blizzard, things you can't always do if you have a little one sleeping.
I think I am more excited about Christmas at around 3 years old than anything ever. When they're old enough to "get" Santa and feel the excitement all month long, that makes me so excited!

  4. Your list is super cute and a fantastic idea. Your scarves are adorable- I wear mine as soon as there is a chill in the air, already rocked some out cause this time next week it'll be 90 out for me! Woo!!!! I'm sure Ryan will help out and give your breaks once lil Bell is here but make sure you get in some alone 'mom time' even ten minutes in the bathroom to read once in a while ;) btw the onsie us super cute! ~soooo close Sara!

    1. Aw, thanks! I'm planning to do them more often now because it was so much fun!
It was actually super chilly and rainy when I came out of class tonight so now I wish I'd worn one today!!
Yes, I'm nervous about that! I always hear women say they're better moms when they get even ten minutes to recharge, and I'm sure I'll be the same way. Luckily Ryan is already over the moon and can't wait to read to and play with him/her so I know I'll always get at least a few minutes to take a quick breather!

  5. Oh my! That outfit is adorable! And I love your scarves.

That's a great list. I'm not too sure about my fall list. It's still not really feeling like fall in Florida!

    1. Thank you!
No, I don't think that would make it work. I used to live in Arizona and the temperatures and weather really varied this time of year, but it definitely looks and feels like fall here in Casper right now!

  6. Sara, I love that you are thinking this way- to appreciate your time as a twosome right now. It seems so often that women in particular get so caught up in the excitement of the baby coming that they forget to really enjoy those last months with their significant other. As for reading, I'm still waiting for the day that I have time to finish a book! It has taken me over 2 months now to get through my current read, eek!

    1. Thank you! It's definitely hard not to think about it at least a little bit, but I'm still trying to make sure I separate Ryan time from talk-about-family time. =]
And yikes! That makes me nervous!
